Click Tracking in Google Analytics:

Each click on the external button link is recorded as an event in Google Analytics with the following parameters:

  • eventCategory = ‘Outlink
  • event action = ‘Click
  • event label = 'Outlink-Click'
  • value= External link URL

To see Click Tracking reports:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
  2. Navigate to your view.
  3. Open Reports.
  4. Select Examine User Behaviour.
  5. Under Event count by Event name, drill down to "Events"  having  Event Action = 'Click'.

Click Tracking in Facebook Pixel:

Each click on the Amazon link is recorded as a custom event on Facebook Pixel with the following parameters:

  •  event = ‘OutlinkClick'
  • custom parameter = 'ExternalLink'.

To see Click Tracking reports:

  1. Sign in with Facebook Ads Manager.
  2. Navigate to Events.
  3. Click on View Analytics.
  4. Go to Events (on the left sidebar menu).
  5. Drill down / explore events having  Events = 'OutlinkClick'.

You can also see the click activity in the Analytics Real-Time > Events panel.
