Click Tracking in Google Analytics:


Each click on external button link is recorded as an event in Google Analytics with the following parameters:

  •  eventCategory = ‘Outlink
  • eventAction = ‘Click
  • eventLabel = External link URL. 


To see Click Tracking reports:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
  2. Navigate to your view.
  3. Open Reports.
  4. Select Behavior > Events.
  5. Drill down / explore events having  Event Category = 'Outlink' and Event Action = 'Click'


Click Tracking in Facebook Pixel:


Each click on Amazon link is recorded as a custom event on Facebook Pixel with the following parameters:

  •  event = ‘OutlinkClick'
  • custom parameter = 'ExternalLink'.


To see Click Tracking reports:

  1. Sign in with Facebook Ads Manager.
  2. Navigate to Events.
  3. Click on View Analytics.
  4. Go to Events (on the left sidebar menu).
  5. Drill down / explore events having  Events = 'OutlinkClick'.

You can also see the click activity in the Analytics Real-Time > Events panel.
